Lunch trip to Telemarkshytta

Join us on a great excursion through scenic surroundings with fantastic views. We’ll bring homemade food from Gaustablikk's kitchen which we’ll then prepare over an open fire in the barbecue hut.


How about eating lunch outdoors – while making the experience about more than just eating and feeling full? This trip takes you to one of the barbecue huts on the green "Telemarkssvingen" route at Gausta Ski Center. The cabins are strategically located for breathtaking views, with great views of Gaustatoppen and Rjukan. We’ll enjoy first-class, home-made food from the chefs at Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell, which we’ll prepare ourselves over an open fire in the cabin. When surrounded by the delicious aromas from the grill, as well as pleasant company and scenic surroundings, the food is sure to taste extra special.

Age: from 9 years (or younger, with parental approval).

When: Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 11.00 – 13.30

Number of participants: maximum 8 people

Food: Homemade sausages with buns, elk burgers, bread, potato salad, green salad and energy bar. (Vegan alternative: Stuffed peppers). We will also brew coffee over the fire.

  • Equipment: Good hiking shoes, outdoor clothing appropriate to the weather (windproof and breathable), backpack with water, a warm sweater.
